Getting here

We're in a developing, up-and-coming part of Pecatu, near the golf courses and green zones of Bingin. It's peaceful, and a little secluded from town — which is the point, and also why a scooter is absolutely required to get around.

Tell your driver this

There are two ways in. The golf course side works only for standard vehicles, and only before 10:00 pm. If you're arriving late at night, or in a car, ask your driver to come via Jalan Raya Labuan Sait instead. In a large van, always use Jalan Raya Labuan Sait, whatever the hour.

Airport & scooters

Airport transfer with our trusted driver is IDR 300,000. If you'd like a scooter waiting for you on arrival, we can have one dropped here — from IDR 100,000 a day. Just message us.

On arrival

One of our crew will be there to welcome you and get you settled into your room. Reception is staffed 24 hours, so arrive at whatever hour your flight lands, and there is security on site around the clock.

Leaving

Check out is 11:00 am. You're welcome to ask front desk on the day about a delayed check out at noon, subject to availability. Later than noon incurs 50% of the nightly room rate.

Your room, and why it's like that

Lulu's is purposefully designed for community building, intimate connections, well-being, events and retreats. The villas sit in a circular layout to encourage the kind of connection that happens by accident.

Guests dancing together on the deck by the pool at night, lit by lanterns and the planting around them.

So the double rooms are deliberately small and face each other, while the common areas and gardens are large. For the same reason, there's no fridge, kettle or coffee inside the rooms — they also make a white noise that disturbs some guests. There's a small fridge and a kettle in the common kitchen by the pool, for everyone.

Water

Please refill at our shared spaces rather than buying single-use bottles. There is refill water at our lobby.

Housekeeping

Rooms are cleaned between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Tell our team if you'd rather have a later slot.

If you need to work

The gardens and common areas are good places to sit, and the cafe is open 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. We can lend you a computer monitor for IDR 50,000 a day.

Ice bath, sauna, shala

Ice bath

Always running, all day, at 7 degrees. No booking — get in whenever you're brave.

Sauna

On request during sauna hours, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Message us 30 minutes ahead and we'll have it ready.

Yoga shala

Primarily for your own self-practice, movement and play, and it's open to you, all day. Every class on our schedule is free to join — this month's is in the next section.

Library

Our collection of books and games isn't an exchange; it holds priceless, sentimental value. From the loved ones who gifted them, the people they've touched, the places they've been and the love letters they carry. We love to share and spread the teachings. We only ask you to return the love, by returning our books for us to hold for our community.

Yoga classes

Our classes are free for everyone staying with us. There is nothing to book and nothing to pay — bring yourself to the shala and take a mat.

We have nurtured a community of teachers who offer our community free classes. They bring people together, and they meet each person's practice at whatever level or state it arrives in. If you have never been on a mat, come anyway and say so.

The dogs

A young brindle dog lying on the cool concrete, looking out across the gardens.

We're care-takers for several dogs that were found under difficult street conditions. Please approach them slowly and gently — sudden movements or surprises can startle them and cause a reactive response. Giving them space and calm energy keeps everyone safe and relaxed.

They're fully vaccinated, see the vet frequently, and are loved and cared for. If you have allergies, or would simply rather they kept their distance, tell us and we'll sort it.

Things we'd rather you heard from us

The roads

Pecatu is facing unprecedented development, and with the harsh weather the roads nearby can be uncertain and sometimes riddled with potholes. The road to Lulu's is a public government road that doesn't belong to us, so our influence is limited to continuing to push and donate for government action. Please be extra careful driving around Bingin.

Little friends

Bali is tropical, and while we do regular pest control, nature can't be fully tamed. You can — and probably will — meet millipedes, mosquitoes, geckos and other animal friends. We have repellants, sprays and a mosquito canopy on request, at no charge.

Power

Bali is served by a single electricity provider, and government outages can affect whole neighbourhoods. They're beyond our control and, while rare, may happen during your stay. We'll do our best to keep you informed. We don't offer refunds in the event of an outage.

Our team

The Lulu's team sitting together around the fire bowl in the courtyard, with the dogs.

Lulu's is built on giving opportunities to our local community, even where English fluency is limited. We kindly ask for patience if communication feels a little slower at times. If something isn't landing clearly, we're always here on WhatsApp and very happy to step in straight away.
